Investments in the Single SEZ: Palazzo Chigi's Statement

A total of 6,885 entities have applied for the investment tax credit in the single SEZ, for a total value of 2.551 billion euros, which will be fully granted. These definitive figures were communicated to the Presidency of the Council by the Revenue Agency. An extraordinary result, which will be discussed in a dedicated Steering Committee meeting on 23 December.

"The maximum amount of tax credit available to each company is guaranteed without any reduction, thanks to the proper funding of the measure that the government has ensured, disproving unfounded concerns on the matter. The South and the Single SEZ are confirmed as the nation's driving force," stated Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

In August, the government allocated additional resources to support businesses, responding to the needs expressed by the production sector and the interest aroused by the establishment of the single SEZ in southern Italy.

Once again, the effectiveness of the Single SEZ is confirmed, demonstrating its capacity to drive concrete economic development in the South, as evidenced by the 413 single authorisations issued since its introduction, representing an additional 2.4 billion euros in investments and over 7,000 jobs. The total investment amount in this first year of the unified ZES, combining those benefiting from the tax credit (whose value is only a portion of the facilitated investments) and those that have benefited solely from the simplification measures, exceeds 7 billion euros.
